Manager, Employee Communications

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Employee Communications based in United States.

This role leads internal communications strategies that help employees understand and connect with organizational priorities, initiatives, and change. You’ll translate complex business topics into clear, engaging, and relevant employee-facing narratives. The position partners closely with business leaders, transformation teams, and senior stakeholders to deliver high-impact communications across the organization. You’ll oversee enterprise campaigns, leadership communications, narrative tracking, and communication processes that support alignment and activation. The role also helps manage organizational attention by ensuring communications are coordinated, focused, and delivered at the right time. This is an influential position for a strategic communicator who combines strong storytelling, sound judgment, and modern AI-enabled workflows.

Accountabilities:

As Manager, Employee Communications, you will develop and execute strategic internal communications programs that create clarity, alignment, engagement, and action across a complex organization.

  • Partner with business leaders, transformation teams, and initiative owners to understand strategic priorities, organizational changes, and other high-impact business efforts.
  • Develop and execute internal communications strategies and plans tailored to specific business needs and audiences.
  • Translate complex business priorities, transformation initiatives, and leadership direction into clear, concise, and relevant employee communications.
  • Create compelling narratives that explain what is changing, why it matters, and what it means for employees.
  • Lead narrative tracking and validation across enterprise initiatives to maintain visibility into messaging, evolving storylines, and areas requiring reinforcement.
  • Identify communications that may overlap or compete for employee attention and develop approaches that reduce noise and improve focus.
  • Develop messaging, communications plans, leader toolkits, FAQs, intranet content, newsletters, talking points, communications calendars, reports, and other employee-facing materials.
  • Partner with senior communications leadership to support executive and leader communications, including previews, cascade materials, talking points, follow-up messaging, and high-impact employee communications.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of internal crisis communications resources.
  • Collaborate with employee experience teams to connect communications with recognition, culture, employee storytelling, engagement, and community-building initiatives.
  • Use employee questions, sentiment, engagement data, channel metrics, and other insights to strengthen communication effectiveness.
  • Leverage generative AI as a collaborative tool to modernize communications workflows, processes, and outputs.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a strategic and creative communications professional with strong business acumen, exceptional writing skills, and experience translating complex organizational topics into compelling employee communications.

  • 7+ years of experience in internal communications, employee communications, corporate communications, change communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated confidence, creativity, and strategic thinking in developing communications programs.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a strong storytelling mindset and ability to make complex topics human and relevant.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business priorities and organizational changes into clear, concise, employee-friendly communications.
  • Experience supporting enterprise initiatives, transformation programs, organizational change, and/or leadership communications.
  • Experience writing communications in executive voices and supporting senior leaders.
  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships with leaders and stakeholders across functions and organizational levels.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive, confidential, or high-impact communications.
  • Understanding of how to adapt messaging for different audiences, roles, and levels within an organization.
  • Experience developing communications plans, executive messaging, leader toolkits, FAQs, intranet content, newsletters, and related materials.
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment with multiple priorities, stakeholders, communication channels, and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to use employee feedback, engagement data, and communication metrics to improve outcomes.
  • Experience with employee communications platforms, intranet tools, digital workplace channels, AI tools, or search technologies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated comfort using generative AI tools to co-create content and improve communications workflows and outputs.
