Specific duties may vary by assignment and are governed by the applicable client post orders, safety requirements, and HPG contractor standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct regular foot patrols of assigned premises, which may require walking and maintaining a visible security presence for up to 90% of an accepted assignment. Observe for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, safety hazards, property concerns, and other conditions requiring attention or escalation.
  • Access Control & Professional Security Presence: Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and other designated locations as required by site post orders. Maintain a professional demeanor, situational awareness, and an appropriate security presence while interacting with clients, employees, residents, guests, vendors, and visitors.
  • Incident Response & De-escalation: Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and security concerns. Use lawful de-escalation practices, remain within the authorized scope of the assignment, and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Accurately complete required daily activity reports, incident reports, logs, observations, and other assignment documentation through designated systems. Reports must be timely, factual, detailed, and suitable for client and internal review.
  • Client Service & Communication: Provide courteous assistance, answer appropriate questions, give directions when applicable, and communicate material security, safety, or operational concerns through the designated client or HPG reporting process.
  • Post Orders, Safety & Site Compliance: Perform accepted services in accordance with lawful client post orders, applicable laws, safety requirements, uniform and grooming standards, and customary security-industry practices. Promptly report hazards, injuries, client complaints, and other required events.
  • Confidentiality & Scope of Authority: Protect confidential client and company information obtained while performing services. Do not misrepresent your authority or role, and do not engage in unauthorized use of force, weapons, or activities outside the scope of an unarmed security assignment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous security, hospitality, customer-service, military, public-safety, or related experience preferred; entry-level candidates may be considered based on assignment requirements.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including the ability to prepare clear and accurate security reports.
  • Ability to use company-designated mobile, scheduling, reporting, and communication systems as required for accepted assignments.
  • Current State of Georgia unarmed guard certification, license, or other credential required for the assignment, and the ability to maintain all required credentials in good standing.
  • Ability to satisfy applicable background screening and assignment-specific eligibility requirements, and reliable transportation to accepted client assignments.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol on foot for extended periods, including assignments where patrol duties may encompass up to 90% of the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to perform services in indoor and outdoor settings and in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
  • Ability to remain alert, observant, and responsive throughout the accepted assignment.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the assignment with or without reasonable accommodation.
