Kitchen - Line Cook (Appetizer Station) in Brick, New Jersey at Cuzin's Seafood Restaurant

Cuzin's Seafood & Clam Bar is expanding! We are opening an exciting new location in Brick, NJ, and are seeking a passionate, highly skilled Line Cook (Appetizer Station) to manage one of the most critical stations in our culinary team.

In this role, you will prep, fry, assemble and plate fresh starters and salads with speed and care on a fast-paced timeline. This position requires speed, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to thrive efficiently on a high-volume, fast-paced line.

Key Responsibilities

• Station Mastery: Prepare hot and cold appetizers, salads, and starters with speed and exact presentation.
• Precise Prep: Slice, fry, chill, and portion ingredients cleanly before and during service.
• Food Safety: Keep your station clean and obey all health and safety rules.
• Ticket Timing: Match times with the hot line so all plates for a table finish together.
• Fresh Storage: Label and rotate stock using FIFO rules to keep food safe.
• Teamwork: Help other cooks and talk clearly with expo during busy rushes.

Professional Experience & Qualifications

• Experience: 1 to 3 years working in a busy kitchen line.
• Knife Skills: Safe and fast use of knives for produce and proteins.
• Pace: Ability to stay calm and work fast during busy dinner rushes.
• Attire & Focus: Professional kitchen habits and a strong work ethic.
• Volume Familiarity: Experience with catering services and large-scale food handling will significantly enhance your candidacy.
• Culinary Passion: A genuine passion for the culinary arts, exceptional flame/heat control, and an uncompromising eye for detail.
