Position Summary:
The EHS Coordinator is responsible for promoting a safe and healthy work environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and procedures. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and works to proactively assist in the prevention of workplace accidents and injuries.
Essential Functions:
- Consistently demonstrate commitment and support for the Sterling Vision, Mission, Values, policies and procedures.
- Enforce all company and safety related policies and procedures throughout the organization including manufacturing and environmental construction services teams.
- Assist with accident and incident investigations, documentation, reporting and claims management.
- Arrange for reasonable suspicion, post-accident drug and alcohol testing and random testing.
- Schedule and arrange all safety training for new employees and current employees and follow to completion.
- Coordinate with outside parties and vendors for onsite safety, OSHA, DOT, EPA training as needed or requested.
- Maintain records and update all systems for safety-related activities including training, inspections, incident reports.
- Assist in the inventory and controls of all safety supplies, products, materials and/ or training items.
- Organize the planning activities for the annual safety fair and coordinate with other departments to assist.
- All other duties and projects assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of related experience is required, within a similar environment and position.
- Previous experience with workers’ compensation claim filing and reporting experience is preferred.
- CPR/ First Aid Certification preferred.
- OSHA 10 and 30, CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Previous experience with EHS Insights or other safety and incident reporting software preferred.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
