Job Description

Director of Supply Chain

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Supply Chain based in the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to build and scale an end-to-end supply chain for a rapidly growing omnichannel consumer brand.
The role spans demand and supply planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, supplier management, and cost optimization.
You will create the infrastructure, processes, and partnerships needed to support continued domestic and international expansion.
Working closely with executive and cross-functional leaders, you will connect commercial demand with operational capacity and financial objectives.
You will also drive supplier performance, working-capital efficiency, retail readiness, and supply continuity across a complex network.
The position offers significant ownership and visibility, with the opportunity to build a high-performing supply chain organization from the ground up.
It is well suited to a hands-on strategic leader who thrives in fast-growth environments and enjoys turning operational complexity into scalable systems.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and continuously evolve the end-to-end supply chain strategy across sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, and distribution, ensuring the infrastructure can support rapid domestic and international growth.
  • Develop manufacturing and supplier network strategies, including sourcing decisions, dual-sourcing opportunities, manufacturing footprint, and make-versus-buy analysis.
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks and single points of failure across manufacturers, suppliers, raw materials, components, and packaging.
  • Lead consensus demand planning and supply planning across DTC, Amazon FBA/FBM, retail, wholesale, and international channels, translating commercial forecasts into SKU-level production, procurement, inventory, and capacity requirements.
  • Lead the S&OP process and create strong alignment across Sales, E-Commerce, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations.
  • Establish procurement governance and oversee purchase orders, supplier commitments, production schedules, costs, delivery dates, payment status, and variance management.
  • Lead contract manufacturer and supplier selection, onboarding, negotiations, relationship management, performance reviews, scorecards, and QBRs.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs, payment terms, capacity reservations, and other commercial conditions while maintaining quality and service standards.
  • Own inventory strategy across SKUs, channels, and locations, including safety stock, inventory turns, days/weeks of cover, aged inventory, excess inventory, and obsolescence prevention.
  • Partner with Finance to improve inventory accuracy, working-capital management, product-cost visibility, and overall supply-chain financial performance.
  • Drive continuous COGS optimization across manufacturing, materials, packaging, freight, and other upstream costs without compromising quality or customer experience.
  • Ensure supply-chain readiness for major retail partners, including forecasts, replenishment, inventory availability, OTIF, fill rates, routing, case-pack, labeling, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead supply-chain readiness for new product launches by securing materials, packaging, production capacity, finished goods, and replenishment plans against critical launch milestones.
  • Develop supply-chain strategies for international expansion, including regional inventory, replenishment, lead-time, freight, capacity, packaging, labeling, and compliance considerations.
  • Own supply-chain master-data integrity across SKU, vendor, BOM, MOQ, lead-time, cost, supplier, and inventory information, while supporting ERP implementation and optimization.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing supply-chain organization, establishing clear responsibilities, decision rights, KPIs, accountability, succession planning, and cross-training.
  • Lead monthly supply-chain business reviews and recurring vendor QBRs, providing executive-level visibility into inventory, production, capacity, working capital, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, escalating material risks early and presenting clear business impacts, options, recommendations, and required decisions.
Requirements:
  • 8–12+ years of progressive supply-chain experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility within a fast-growth CPG or consumer-products organization.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling supply-chain infrastructure in rapidly growing businesses.
  • Deep hands-on expertise across demand planning, supply planning, procurement, contract manufacturing, inventory management, and supplier management.
  • Proven experience supporting omnichannel businesses spanning DTC, retail, wholesale, and Amazon FBA/FBM.
  • Strong understanding of major retail supply-chain requirements, replenishment, OTIF performance, and inventory planning.
  • Significant contract-manufacturing, supplier-management, and commercial negotiation experience.
  • Experience managing both domestic and international supply chains and preparing organizations for market expansion.
  • Strong financial acumen, including understanding of COGS, inventory investment, margins, cash requirements, and working-capital implications.
  • Experience working with ERP and planning systems, with a strong focus on data integrity, planning discipline, and scalable processes.
  • Strong strategic and analytical capabilities combined with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams, establish operating rhythms, and create accountability in high-growth environments.
  • Experience in beauty, haircare, personal care, or other consumer-product categories is preferred.
  • Experience scaling a digitally native consumer brand into major brick-and-mortar retail is a plus.
  • Experience supporting nine-figure or rapidly scaling consumer businesses is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or comparable ERP platforms and experience improving demand- and supply-planning systems are preferred.
Benefits:
  • $150,000–$190,000 annual compensation range.
  • Fully remote position based in the United States.
  • Full-time leadership opportunity with significant ownership of the supply-chain function.
  • Direct executive exposure and meaningful influence over revenue, profitability, working capital, retail expansion, and customer experience.
  • Opportunity to design and implement scalable supply-chain systems, processes, supplier relationships, and organizational structures.
  • Opportunity to support major omnichannel and international growth initiatives.
  • Fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with substantial decision-making authority.
  • Opportunity to help scale a rapidly growing consumer brand and build a high-performing supply-chain organization.
