Accounting Technician I in Colusa, California at Ministerial Association of Colusa C

The Accounting Technician will support the finance team in managing the financial operations of our nonprofit organization. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), payroll, benefit deductions, and tracking budget amounts in our accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and processing of AR and AP transactions.
• Manage payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation and deduction of benefits.
• Track and maintain budget amounts within the accounting software.
• Support the finance team with financial reporting and analysis.
• Utilize QuickBooks, Dext, and BILL.com for efficient financial management.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and practices.
• Collaborate with the bookkeeper, administrative analyst, and board treasurer to maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform regular reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Experience managing payroll and benefit deductions.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Dext, and BILL.com.
• Understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a nonprofit organization.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and budget tracking.

Working Conditions:
