Brunswick Physical Therapy, powered by Areté Health, is looking for a Physical Therapy Technician to join our team in Southport, NC.

You'll help patients feel comfortable and supported throughout their visits, assist with treatment activities under appropriate supervision, and play an important role in keeping the clinic running smoothly.

What you'll want to know

• Compensation: $16.00 per hour.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday. Individual hours based on clinic needs.
• Location: Brunswick Physical Therapy | Southport, NC. This is an onsite clinical position.
• Work environment: A busy outpatient rehabilitation clinic where you'll work directly with licensed therapists and clinical support staff. You'll gain exposure to therapeutic exercises, patient care, clinical equipment, and daily clinic operations while helping support an efficient and positive patient experience.

• Prepare treatment areas and equipment to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and therapists.
• Assist licensed therapists with therapeutic programs, exercise demonstrations, and patient activities under appropriate supervision and within the technician role's permitted scope.
• Help set up therapeutic modalities, such as heat/cold packs and electrotherapy equipment, as directed by the treating clinician.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during sessions, communicating concerns or observations to the supervising therapist.
• Clean, maintain, and organize clinical equipment while monitoring supplies and supporting daily clinic readiness.
• Help keep patient visits running smoothly by supporting treatment flow, scheduling coordination, and clinic operations.
• Assist with administrative tasks and permitted EMR documentation, as directed by clinical staff.

Required

• Bachelor's degree (or currently enrolled in the final year) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Biology, or a related field; OR completion of a certified technical program.
• Foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in helping patients.
• Ability to work collaboratively with therapists and support staff in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort learning new technology.

Preferred

• Certification as a Personal Trainer (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE), CSCS, ATC, or EMT-Basic.
• Previous experience in a physical therapy clinic, athletic training environment, fitness facility, or other patient-facing setting.
• Familiarity with therapeutic exercise, safe patient transfers, and exercise demonstrations.
• Experience using EMR systems, scheduling software, or Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
• Interest in pursuing graduate-level education in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Athletic Training.
