Behavioral Health Technician (BHT)

Location: Torch Recovery Center (Recess Recovery Network & affiliates) Bayville NJ.

• Monitor and support clients throughout detox and residential treatment.
• Conduct client rounds, head counts, and safety checks using ObservSmart.
• Observe client behavior and condition and promptly communicate concerns to nursing or clinical staff.
• Assist with admissions, orientations, discharges, daily routines, and activities of daily living.
• Document client observations, shift activities, and incidents accurately in the EMR.
• Support recovery-oriented activities and groups within the scope of the BHT role.
• Escort or transport clients to approved appointments and destinations as assigned.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral concerns and emergencies using approved techniques.
• Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, New Jersey requirements, and facility policies.
• Attend required meetings, training, and supervision.

Rate of Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Behavioral health, substance use disorder, or residential treatment experience preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record if transportation duties are assigned.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
• Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
