Experience with computer systems, data entry, filing, and general administrative duties.

General Description
Crossroads Community Services Board is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Reimbursement Specialist to join our Finance team. This position is responsible for billing, reimbursement, collections, and follow-up activities related to both consumer and insurance account balances.
The Reimbursement Specialist works closely with the Reimbursement/Accounts Receivable Coordinator and other agency staff to ensure accurate billing, timely follow-up, and proper resolution of reimbursement issues. This position is non-exempt under FLSA and is designated as Level Two under the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
The successful candidate must be organized, able to establish priorities, manage multiple responsibilities, and complete assigned tasks accurately and within established deadlines.This position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to travel throughout the Crossroads CSB service area and occasionally attend meetings outside the area.
A valid Virginia driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background screenings, which may include fingerprinting, Sex Offender Registry and Crimes Against Minors Registry checks, and any other screenings required by Crossroads Community Services Board.
Knowledge PreferredMedical billing, reimbursement, and accounts receivable processes.
Third-party insurance billing and claim follow-up.
Claim denials, corrections, and resubmissions.
Collection policies and procedures.
HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
Community Services Board reimbursement practices and DBHDS reimbursement requirements.
General office and clinic operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Identify, review, and monitor active and past-due consumer accounts for collection efforts.
Review consumer accounts and billing submissions for accuracy and completeness.
Assist with processing third-party payer remittances.
Assist with obtaining third-party authorizations as needed.
Generate monthly clinical service billing, including electronic billing, paper billing, and direct data entry.
Review third-party claim denials daily and take appropriate corrective action.
Void incorrect claims and submit corrected claims when necessary.
Assist with follow-up on outstanding insurance balances and reimbursement issues.
Provide training and guidance to agency staff regarding reimbursement processes and procedures.
Serve as a liaison between reimbursement staff, Office Managers, Clinic Office Assistants, and other agency personnel.
Assist individuals and staff with questions regarding services, account balances, and billing statements.
Maintain confidentiality of protected health and financial information in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies.
Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
