Job Description

WAREHOUSE MANAGER

Serve Electric | Grand Rapids, MI


ABOUT THIS ROLE

If you're organized, good with your hands, and like keeping things running behind the scenes, this is your next move. As our Warehouse Manager, you'll team up with our Project Managers and Purchasing crew to keep materials, tools, and equipment where they need to be, when they need to be there. This is a hands-on role (not a desk job) where you'll split your time between the warehouse and job sites and become the go-to person our crews count on.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

    Overseeing warehouse service support programs, including equipment repair, safety initiatives, salvage operations, and tool and inventory managementReceiving, storing, ordering, and issuing materials, supplies, and equipment for the branchChecking tooling in and out, and working closely with the Purchaser on regular inventory counts, restocking, and getting materials ready for projectsPartnering with Project Managers to pull, organize, and deliver project materials and toolingInspecting incoming stock, reporting shortages or damages, and returning defective or incorrect itemsKeeping records for purchase orders and deliveries, and processing receipts and other warehouse documents on the computerDetermining the right storage space, stock quantities, and best methods to control and store inventoryMonitoring stock levels and helping order materials when neededDriving a delivery truck, loading and unloading materials, and handling pickups and drop-offs between vendors, wholesalers, job sites, and the shopSafely operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucksPerforming tooling repairs or coordinating service as neededMaking sure key equipment is maintained on a regular schedule and service records stay up to dateKeeping the warehouse clean, organized, and secure

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

    Strong people skills, both on the phone and in personComfort working on the computerStrong organizational skillsAbility to work well with your hands (building, welding, or auto experience preferred)Ability to safely operate warehouse equipmentExperience towing a trailerValid driver's license and an acceptable driving recordAbility to work in both warehouse and jobsite environmentsHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred)1 year of inventory management experience (preferred)

Nice to have:

    Electrical parts backgroundAuto mechanic experienceCDL license
