Occupational Summary:
To perform general custodial duties on a routine basis as assigned by the supervisor to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of university buildings. This is a part-time position with a flexible work schedule based on departmental needs. Occasional additional hours may be required to support campus activities, special events, or operational needs

Essential Functions:
- Empty trash from offices, classrooms, labs, bathrooms, break rooms, laundry rooms, lobbies and common areas daily. Clean trash receptacles as needed.
- Maintain and stock designated housekeeping cart, housekeeping closet and equipment for daily use.
- Clean all surfaces as needed - tables, desks, chairs, blackboards, countertops, windows, mirrors, ledges, blinds, picture frames, showcases, display cases, light fixtures etc.
- Disinfect restroom toilets, urinals, stall walls, sinks, faucets, floors etc. daily.
- Stock paper products, soap dispensers, air fresheners, etc. in all restrooms daily.
- Sweep, mop and/or vacuum floors in all entrances, hallways, offices, classrooms, stairways, etc. daily.
- Vacuum all entrance floor mats daily.
- Clean all entrance windows and doors daily
- Clean stairwells one time a week- Dust banisters and ledges, mop stairs, wipe baseboards etc.
- Buff (using conventional buffer) common use areas, hallways, offices, classrooms to maintain shine on hard surface floors one time a week.
- Spot clean carpet and upholstery as needed.
- Annually (or as needed) wax or strip wax hard surface floors in entrances, hallways, offices, classrooms, stairways, etc.
- Annually (or as needed) shampoo all carpeted areas: entrances, hallways, offices, classrooms, stairways, etc.
- Assist with moving tables, chairs, and other furnishing as needed during special events, or occasions.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and comply with all OSHA programs.
- Complete University-required trainings, including FERPA and Title IX.
- Contribute to the overall success of the facilities department by performing all other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position.

- Able to perform the functions and responsibilities of the job without direct supervision.
- High School Diploma.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in the proper and safe use of floor cleaning equipment (floor scrubber, floor buffer, carpet shampooer, carpet extractors, vacuum cleaners)
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in the proper and safe handling of floor cleaning chemicals and floor waxes.
Physical Requirements:
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 100 lbs daily.
- Be able to lift and carry 10-20 lbs. frequently.
- Be able to walk and climb stairs frequently.
- Be able to carry supplies and equipment up and down stairs daily.
- Be able to bend, stoop or kneel repeatedly.
- Be able to reach overhead and maintain their balance daily.
