The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s safety programs and ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and other applicable regulations. This position will work closely with field employees, supervisors, management, and other departments to identify hazards, provide safety training, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across Magnolia. The Safety Manager reports to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with the company’s Safety Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular jobsite and facility safety inspections.
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and new-hire safety orientation.
  • Investigate workplace injuries, accidents, near-misses, property damage, and vehicle incidents.
  • Maintain safety records and track safety performance.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Monitor fleet and driver safety, including DOT compliance and driver qualifications.
  • Review and maintain required safety documentation and training records.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to improve safe work practices.
  • Assist with OSHA inspections, DOT audits, and other regulatory reviews.
  • Work with clients, general contractors, insurance representatives, and regulatory agencies on safety matters.
  • Stay current on safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Support emergency response and safety planning.
  • Travel to jobsites and company locations as needed.
  • Help maintain TRIR, CSA, and EMR performance goals.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout Magnolia Plumbing, LLC.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour Certification required.
  • Confined Space Train-the-Trainer certification required.
  • CPR and AED Certification required.
  • OSHA 500-hour Certification preferred.
  • NATMI CDS or equivalent trucking safety training preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety-related role.
  • Experience with OSHA and DOT/FMCSA compliance preferred.
  • Experience with safety inspections, incident investigations, employee training, and workers’ compensation preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work both in an office environment and on active jobsites.
  • Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, and navigate uneven terrain and confined areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to work in various weather and jobsite conditions while wearing required PPE.
