Job Description
Position Summary
The Service Technician installs, maintains, and repairs a wide range of fueling and service station equipment, including fuel dispensers, submersible fuel pumps, site controllers, card readers, point-of-sale (POS) console systems, and tank and line monitoring equipment. This skilled, problem-solving role diagnoses and resolves complex equipment issues, performs preventive and break-fix maintenance, and delivers responsive, high-quality service that keeps customers’ fueling operations running safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Work safely at all times and comply with applicable fire safety, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulations.
- Install, maintain, and repair fuel dispensers, submersible fuel pumps, site controllers, card readers, point-of-sale (POS) console systems, tank and line monitoring equipment, and other equipment found in service stations and convenience stores.
- Observe, analyze, and determine the appropriate course of action for equipment service and repair, then perform repairs professionally and productively.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and break-fix repairs on service station electronics, computers, and fuel dispensing systems, including electronic, plumbing, and mechanical work.
- Perform factory-authorized modifications to manufacturer specifications.
- Resolve warranty calls on dispensers and tank monitors.
- Maintain the tools required to perform the job effectively and safely.
- Follow each customer’s safety and housekeeping guidelines when performing repairs on site.
- Provide quality customer service that exceeds expectations by completing all assigned duties in a cost-effective manner.
- Complete prerequisite work required to obtain and maintain original equipment manufacturer (OEM) certifications.
- Work with the service project crew and assist lead technicians with the start-up and commissioning of equipment.
- Perform after-hours service calls and travel as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with computer operations and an aptitude for learning new computer skills.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Ability to meet StationServ’s employment requirements, including passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check if driving for the company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Gilbarco dispenser certification and Veeder-Root tank monitor certification.
- Prior experience servicing fuel dispensing systems, service station electronics, or related petroleum equipment.
- Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) certifications relevant to fueling equipment.
Work Environment
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with frequent bending and stooping.
- Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Willingness to perform after-hours and on-call service calls.
- Willingness to travel as needed to customer sites.
- Work is performed in the field at customer service stations and jobsites across StationServ’s operating areas. Some technicians work remotely, away from a local branch, and are dispatched directly to customer sites.
- Exposure to varying weather and operating conditions.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and aligned to StationServ’s location-based pay structure.
