Freelance Solutions Architect

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Freelance Solutions Architect in United States.

This role is focused on designing and delivering scalable, data-driven MarTech solutions that enable world-class customer experiences for leading global brands. You will act as a key technical partner, translating complex business goals into robust architectures across CRM, CDP, and marketing automation ecosystems. Working in a highly collaborative, client-facing environment, you will guide discovery, shape solution strategy, and define end-to-end implementation plans. The position requires strong technical depth combined with the ability to communicate clearly with both engineering teams and business stakeholders. You will play a central role in modernizing marketing technology stacks, improving data activation, and enabling personalized, omnichannel customer journeys. This is a freelance, high-impact role where your architectural decisions directly influence customer engagement and business growth outcomes.

Accountabilities:

Lead discovery sessions with clients to understand business objectives, technical constraints, existing systems, and data flows across the MarTech ecosystem

  • Define target-state architecture for CRM, CDP, and marketing automation platforms, including integration patterns and scalability design
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions with clear trade-offs, risks, and implementation approaches
  • Produce detailed architecture documentation, including diagrams, data flow models, event schemas, and implementation roadmaps
  • Lead end-to-end solution design from discovery through delivery, supporting implementation teams throughout execution
  • Write clear technical specifications for engineering teams and collaborate with project managers to scope and sequence work
  • Architect and support integrations across CDPs, analytics tools, marketing automation platforms, and attribution systems
  • Design data models, event tracking frameworks, and identity resolution strategies to support personalization and analytics use cases
  • Support data activation workflows using ETL and reverse ETL patterns across downstream systems
  • Ensure solutions support omnichannel customer journeys, lifecycle orchestration, and real-time marketing automation
Requirements:

5+ years of software development experience with strong exposure to system architecture and integration design

  • Experience integrating third-party systems and designing or supporting ETL and data pipeline solutions
  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with CDP platforms such as Mixpanel or Tealium
  • Proven experience working directly with clients and cross-functional stakeholders in a consulting or delivery role
  • Strong ability to design and architect CDP or MarTech integrations across full implementation lifecycles
  • Experience working with APIs and at least one of: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or mobile SDKs
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, Heroku, or iPaaS platforms
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, JSON, and SQL is highly desirable
  • Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., Braze, Iterable, Klaviyo, Customer.io) is a plus
  • Knowledge of reverse ETL tools (e.g., Hightouch, Census) and event-driven architectures is highly valued
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience in eCommerce or platforms like Shopify or Magento is a bonus
