Job Description

Windows Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Windows Software Engineer based in the United States.

This role focuses on building and enhancing high-performance Windows applications that power a modern software platform used by a broad range of users. You will be responsible for designing and delivering new features while improving the stability, performance, and usability of existing systems. The environment is highly collaborative, combining product thinking with deep technical execution, where engineers are encouraged to understand the “why” behind every feature. You will work extensively with Windows-native technologies, contributing to complex desktop applications built in C# and WPF. The role requires both attention to detail and the ability to think at a systems level, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural quality. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ship reliable, well-crafted software. This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on a growing platform while working on technically challenging desktop engineering problems.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain Windows-based software solutions, contributing to both new feature development and long-term platform improvements.

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality Windows desktop applications using C# and WPF
  • Develop and deliver new product features while ensuring performance, stability, and usability standards
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software issues across application layers
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, refactoring efforts, and long-term codebase health
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions
  • Interface with native components where necessary, including C/C++ integrations
  • Optimize application performance, particularly in graphics, media, and resource-intensive workflows
  • Participate in code reviews and support engineering best practices across the team
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong Windows development experience, deep C# and WPF expertise, and a proactive mindset toward problem-solving and collaboration.

  • Strong experience developing Windows desktop applications using C# and WPF
  • Solid understanding of Windows application architecture and software design principles
  • Experience delivering production-quality software with attention to performance and reliability
  • Ability to work through ambiguous requirements and drive projects to completion independently
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and system-level problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of trade-offs between refactoring now vs. later
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Experience interfacing C# applications with native code (C/C++) is a plus
  • Familiarity with performance optimization for Windows applications is highly valued
  • Exposure to video/audio systems or graphics rendering (DirectX/OpenGL) is a plus
Benefits
  • Remote-first work environment within the United States
  • Opportunity to work on a high-impact, technically complex Windows application
  • Collaborative engineering culture focused on learning and knowledge sharing
  • Meaningful ownership of features and technical decisions
  • Exposure to advanced desktop engineering, performance tuning, and system design challenges
  • Career growth in a product-focused engineering environment
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience.
