Job Description
The Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for the administration, security, optimization, and ongoing improvement of the company’s Microsoft 365 commercial environment, including coordination of identity and account synchronization between the commercial and Microsoft 365 GCC tenants.
This position will serve as a primary technical resource for Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Power Apps, and Power Automate. The individual will work closely with internal departments to assess existing SharePoint and Teams environments, improve site organization and governance, strengthen access controls, automate business processes, and enhance the overall user experience.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-directed professional who can independently identify opportunities for improvement, develop project plans, coordinate with business stakeholders, and drive initiatives through completion. This role requires a strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security architecture, identity management, SharePoint information architecture, and the integration of Power Platform solutions with SharePoint and Teams.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID, including user and group management, guest accounts, enterprise applications, authentication, role-based access control, and identity governance.
- Experience managing identity, account, or directory synchronization between separate Microsoft 365 tenants or organizational environments.
- Strong SharePoint Online administration and development experience, including site collections, hub sites, modern SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, metadata, content types, navigation, and permissions.
- Experience assessing, reorganizing, and cleaning up existing SharePoint environments and Microsoft Teams-connected sites.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams security architecture, including site permissions, Microsoft 365 Groups, security groups, guest access, external sharing, sensitivity considerations, and least-privilege access.
- Experience administering Microsoft Teams, including team and channel configuration, membership, guest access, connected SharePoint sites, and governance.
- Experience developing Power Apps and Power Automate workflows that integrate with SharePoint lists, libraries, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, approvals, and other Microsoft 365 services.
- Ability to analyze existing manual business processes and design practical Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions to improve efficiency, consistency, and control.
- Experience working directly with business departments and process owners to gather requirements, document workflows, develop solutions, and support implementation.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects, establish priorities, communicate progress, and drive initiatives to completion.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 security, compliance, retention, audit logging, and access-management concepts.
- Experience using PowerShell or other administrative scripting tools to manage and automate Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, or Teams administrative tasks.
- Experience working with organizations that maintain separate commercial and government Microsoft 365 tenants.
- Experience with cross-tenant identity, collaboration, guest access, business-to-business collaboration, or synchronization solutions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API, Azure Automation, Azure Logic Apps, or other tools used to automate identity and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience developing SharePoint governance standards, site provisioning processes, naming conventions, lifecycle-management procedures, and records-management practices.
- Experience with Power Platform governance, environments, connectors, data-loss prevention policies, solution deployment, and application lifecycle management.
- Experience with Microsoft Purview, sensitivity labels, retention policies, eDiscovery, data-loss prevention, or information protection.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Conditional Access, multifactor authentication, Privileged Identity Management, and Zero Trust security principles.
- Experience supporting regulated, federal contracting, defense, or cybersecurity-focused environments.
- Familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, FedRAMP, or similar security and compliance frameworks.
- Experience creating technical documentation, standard operating procedures, system diagrams, governance plans, and end-user training materials.
- Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, Azure, Entra ID, or cybersecurity.
- Experience with Power BI, Dataverse, Microsoft Forms, or additional Microsoft Power Platform capabilities.
- Experience leading SharePoint migrations, tenant consolidations, content restructuring, or Teams governance initiatives.
