Position Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure campground environment through regular patrols, monitoring activity, and responding appropriately to incidents or concerns. This role requires strong situational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to interact calmly and respectfully with guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine patrols of the campground, facilities, and common areas
Monitor access points and ensure compliance with campground policies
Respond to incidents, safety concerns, and guest inquiries in a professional manner
Document incidents, observations, and shift activities accurately and timely
Coordinate with campground management and local emergency services when necessary
Enforce campground rules consistently while maintaining a customer-focused approach
Observe and report maintenance, safety, or security risks
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior security, military, law enforcement, or related experience preferred
Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods
Strong communication and conflict-de-escalation skills
Ability to work independently with sound judgment
Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods
Valid driver’s license required
