This role supports coordination of benefits activities that help ensure medical expenses and premium reimbursement are processed accurately and efficiently.
You will provide administrative, telephone, and data-entry support while coordinating benefits with other insurance carriers.
The position involves validating insurance information and maintaining accurate records across claims and tracking systems.
You will work with internal teams, external insurance organizations, and government agencies to resolve coverage-related matters.
Attention to detail and strong organization are essential when managing multiple tasks and meeting internal deadlines.

- Provide telephone, administrative, and data-entry support to the coordination of benefits team.
- Support daily coordination of benefits review activities that directly affect medical expenses and premium reimbursement.
- Coordinate benefits information with other insurance carriers responsible for payment.
- Contact insurance companies by phone or use their online portals to validate state, vendor, and internal coordination-of-benefits leads.
- Research and verify other insurance coverage information to support accurate claims processing.
- Update other insurance records within the claims transactional system.
- Maintain accurate information in the coordination-of-benefits tracking database.
- Ensure insurance records are updated promptly and accurately based on validated information.
- Contact the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) when required to support coordination-of-benefits activities.
- Coordinate with designated company contacts to submit and track tickets related to premium restoration.
- Support Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) and End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) premium restoration activities.
- Follow established procedures for documenting insurance and benefits information.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain or clarify coverage information.
- Manage multiple administrative tasks and requests while meeting internal deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records throughout the coordination-of-benefits process.
- Collaborate effectively with teams across a highly matrixed organization.
- At least 1 year of administrative support experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional approach to interactions.
- Excellent attention to detail when reviewing and entering insurance information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, requests, and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and meet internal deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable working collaboratively across a highly matrixed organization.
- Ability to communicate clearly when gathering, validating, or clarifying information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software applications.
- Ability to perform accurate and consistent data entry.
- Ability to work with claims, insurance, or benefits-related information is advantageous.
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with coordination of benefits, Medicare, or other health insurance processes is a plus.

- Hourly salary range of $12.19–$26.42, with actual compensation varying based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
