Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Shipboard Elevator Mechanical Technician III in Norfolk, VA.

Summary: This position will work closely with the Ship’s Force, Government, and contract personnel to provide technical support for the US Navy ships. This position will include assessing and repairing all mechanical aspects of shipboard elevators, dumbwaiters, and conveyors in a shop and shipboard environment. This position supports aircraft carrier elevator maintenance at Norfolk, Virginia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides technical support and assistance on mechanical systems and components, supporting U.S. Navy shipboard weapons elevators, cargo elevators, and dumbwaiters.

• Conducts research and provides drawings, technical manual information, design specifications, and engineering technical recommendations for the condition assessment, corrective action, and the preventative measures to prevent mechanical equipment-related problems from recurring.

• Assists with shipboard PMS accomplishment.

• Uses a variety of precision measurement standards and instruments

• Assists the ship's force with obtaining supply and repair parts information as required.

• Provides technical assistance and support on complex machinery control system technical problems beyond the capability of the ship's force.

• Provides direct communication to the ship's force representative that completely describes the mechanical systems and component problem and solutions to correct.

• Provides input and assists with process improvement procedures. assembles and installs equipment, using hand tools and power tools.

• Performs the necessary out briefs to the ship's force representatives, including the ship's officers and supporting personnel, as well as briefs to management within the engineering department.

• Understands and follows standard and specified safety procedures and operating.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum six plus years of direct experience working with the preventative/corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of shipboard weapons elevators, cargo elevators, and dumbwaiter systems

• Ability to use drawings, prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to locate defective components and perform repairs. Work with published technical directives and equipment specifications, which outline specific alignment and calibration procedures

• Ability to attach moving parts and subassemblies to basic assembly units, using hand tools and power tools as instructed, and other duties as assigned by their supervisor

• Knowledgeable of Navy tag-out, standard troubleshooting techniques, and Navy Quality assurance practices

• Knowledge and experience in military terminology procedures

• Knowledge of standard items, test procedures, and test memos

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM)

• Experience with quality assurance

• Prior Craftsman 301 qualification

• OSHA 10 certification

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is $28.00- $31.00 hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
