Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Network and Telecommunications Manager, leads the design, implementation and support of Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN & WAN), Intra/Internet connectivity and telecommunications. Participates in the development of policies and standards. Under the general direction of the Network Manger, leads the efforts to ensure network stability, reliability, security and integrity.
Designs and implements scaleable network solutions for clinical and campus environments including: Network Management solutions, Network mapping, LAN/WAN infrastructure redesign and/or expansion of existing networks. Develops solutions and plans to converge voice, video and data. Performs performance and tuning tasks associated with network support and application performance in a local and wide area environment. Perform assignments in troubleshooting software and/or hardware problems for network-based systems, installation and project implementation.
Required Skills:
1. Effective written and oral communication skills.
2. Proficient on network operations, operating systems, hardware and software.
3. Proficient on network administration and documentation
4. Working knowledge of wide area networks and telecommunications devices.
5. Capable of handling stressful situations in a support role.
6. Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion in decision making.
7. Good leadership and interpersonal skills
8. Sound judgment in problem solving
9. Comfortable with conflict resolution.
Required Experience:
Work Experience
Three years network, hardware, software and electronic equipment installation, support and maintenance operation. Requires additional two years of experience managing Microsoft Windows networks and Active Directory or two years of experience working with routers, switches, and firewalls.
License/Registration/Certification
MCP, CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.
Education and Training
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in microcomputer technology or related field preferred.
