Baggage Handling Floor Support - BWI (Baltimore/Washington International Airport)

Vanderlande Logistics LLC is seeking to fill a full-time Baggage Handling Floor Support position in support of the team located at the Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Airport. This position requires experience and knowledge in the responsibilities outlined below.

Responsibilities

Provide general and specialized support under the supervision of the Manager or Shift Supervisor to maintain the operation of the Baggage Handling Systems. The position will be responsible for:

• Safely clearing baggage jams when they occur.
• Assisting technicians with mechanical and electrical repairs as needed.
• Manually moving baggage during system outages.
• Manually encoding baggage tags when required.
• Performing general housekeeping and cleanup of work areas and conveyor equipment.
• Monitoring and assisting the flow of baggage through critical areas of the system.
• Supporting safe and efficient baggage handling operations throughout the airport.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Lifting 50 to 100 pounds
• Bending, reaching, and climbing
• Walking, crawling, standing, and sitting for extended periods
• Climbing stairs
• Speaking, hearing, and visual acuity necessary to perform job duties safely and effectively

Required Skills

• Ability to pass all background checks and security screenings as required by airport regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining a high level of client service.
