Position Summary
Reporting to the SVP of Marketing Strategy & Brand, the Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing New Era’s organic and paid social presence day to day, from concept and design through publishing, community management and performance optimization. This role is for a creator who knows how to make an idea visible: building content that earns attention, turns followers into brand advocates and reaches new audiences organically first, with paid campaigns used strategically to extend reach. The right candidate brings original creative thinking, polished design and video skills, and work that arrives ready to publish with minimal revision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
•Develop and execute organic and paid social media strategies aligned with New Era’s brand, business goals and target audiences.
•Translate intangible concepts (protection, trust, peace of mind, and New Era philosophy) into clear, compelling content ideas and recurring content series.
•Build and maintain the social content calendar for leadership review; maintain schedules, deadlines and publishing cadence across all channels.
•Stay current on platform trends and updates to inform strategy and proactively bring new ideas forward.
•Manage audience targeting, budget pacing, A/B testing and ongoing optimization to improve lead cost per result.
•Report on organic and performance and recommend budget and creative adjustments based on results.
Content Creation
•Concept, design and produce original content, including static graphics, carousels, short-form video, reels and stories.
•Shoot and edit video for social when needed, including on-site capture at company and agent events.
•Apply strong design hierarchy and simplification.
•Write clean, on-brand copy with flawless grammar, spelling and punctuation.
•Deliver publish-ready work at first submission: proofread, correctly sized and consistent with brand standards.
•Use AI tools as an aid, not a substitute. Content must reflect original creative thinking and New Era’s distinct voice.
Community Growth & Engagement
•Develop campaigns that turn followers into engaged, loyal brand advocates.
•Grow audience reach organically through engagement strategy, shareable content and community-building.
•Monitor channels for conversations, trends, and feedback, responding promptly and appropriately.
Collaboration & Compliance
•Partner with internal teams to align social media initiatives with company-wide marketing campaigns.
•Route content through appropriate compliance review channels.
•Take creative direction and feedback and incorporate it efficiently and accurately.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
•Track and report on key metrics, including reach, engagement, follower growth, video completion, click-through rate, conversions, and cost per result.
•Use performance insights to refine content mix, timing, and spend.
•Apply SEO principles and emerging digital strategies to improve performance.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
•3+ years of hands-on social medica experience, including both content creation and paid social campaign management.
•Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign and Illustrator.
•Proven ability to shoot and edit short-form videos and reels (Premier Pro, After Effects, CapCut or Similar).
•Proven experience running and optimizing paid social campaigns, with measurable results.
•Strong command of design principles, including visual hierarchy, layout, typography and simplification, with strong attention to detail.
•Excellent writing, grammar, and proofreading skill, with strong attention to detail.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
•Highly organized, with proven ability to maintain content calendars and meet deadlines across multiple projects.
•Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work with minimal revision, while being receptive to direction.
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
•Ability to successfully pass a background check.
Preferred:
•Demonstrated experience promoting intangible products or services, such as insurance, financial services, healthcare, professional services, education or nonprofit.
Education
•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field.
Portfolio Requirement

•Finalists may be asked to complete a short creative exercise.
Work Environment Requirements
•This is an in-office position. In-person presence is required for training, collaboration, and creative reviews.
•Hybrid flexibility may be considered in the future once the employee has demonstrated consistent quality, productivity, and command of brand standards, at management’s discretion.
•Professional office environment with standard hours (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm); occasional extended hours during peak times.
•Frequent use of computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
•Regular interaction with staff, leadership, and customers in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
