Job Description

Senior Solutions Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer based in India.

Join a remote-first team transforming how businesses manage global payments through a unified, API-driven infrastructure. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will bridge the gap between commercial objectives and technical implementation, helping merchants solve complex payment challenges and unlock new opportunities. You will partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering to design tailored solutions, guide integrations, and deliver seamless merchant experiences. From early discovery conversations to successful go-live, you will take ownership of complex engagements and influence product development through customer insights. This role is ideal for a technically strong, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving unique problems, and values autonomy, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will combine technical expertise, consultative selling, and project leadership to help merchants adopt payment solutions successfully. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with the Sales team to identify merchant challenges, understand business needs, and communicate the value of tailored technical solutions.

  • Provide technical guidance throughout business development and pre-sales engagements.

  • Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions and explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Lead discovery sessions, solution design workshops, product demonstrations, and developer Q&A sessions.

  • Guide merchants from initial pre-sales discussions through integration, go-live, and post-launch ramp-up, ensuring a smooth implementation journey.

  • Own complex merchant integrations by coordinating internal and external stakeholders, developing implementation plans, and proactively managing dependencies and risks.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to share market insights, identify product gaps, and recommend feature enhancements that improve the merchant experience.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and diverse merchant requirements in a scaling, fast-moving environment.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication, customer engagement, and project management skills. You should be comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and building trusted relationships across technical and commercial teams. Relevant qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in a merchant-facing or customer-facing technical role involving a complex API-based product, ideally within payments.

  • Practical experience implementing frontend SDKs in web or mobile environments and advising developers on integration best practices.

  • Confidence leading discovery sessions, presenting to C-level stakeholders, and engaging with technical teams at large merchants.

  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand, explain, and design complex technical solutions.

  • Proven project management skills, including organizing implementation plans and coordinating integrations involving multiple teams and dependencies.

  • Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively to unexpected challenges and changing customer requirements.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex topics accessible to diverse audiences.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with clients, partners, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams.

  • A proactive, motivated approach and a willingness to grow alongside a rapidly expanding business.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, scaling organization.

  • Comfort with a fully remote working environment, shifting priorities, and ambiguity.

Benefits:

  • Compensation: The source listing advertises Tier 1 on-target earnings of $214,000–$308,000, including commission-based compensation. The stated compensation range is location-tier specific and may not apply to India.

  • Competitive share options.

  • Fully remote work within a globally distributed team.

  • Flexible annual leave, with a minimum of 25 days to be taken.

  • Access to co-working spaces across major cities.

  • Workations and an annual company retreat.

  • High-quality equipment suited to your role.

  • £500 toward your home office setup.

  • A generous learning and professional development budget.

  • Private medical insurance.

  • Additional location-dependent perks and benefits.

  • Supportive onboarding and a collaborative environment focused on helping employees succeed.
