Pay: $19 - $24 per hour
Reports to: Training Manager
Company Summary: Midwest Petroleum is a retail petroleum and convenience store chain based in St. Louis, Mo. We began operating in 1946, and since 2002, the St. Louis Business Journal has recognized us as one of the top 150 privately owned businesses in St. Louis. Midwest Petroleum operates 70 stores within a 150-mile radius that employs approximately 600 employees. Midwest Petroleum markets fuel through the ZX, Conoco, and Phillips 66 brands.
Primary Purpose of Job: As the Corporate Trainer, you will be responsible for implementing training materials and guiding new hires at the store level. The Corporate Trainer is responsible for setting up their schedule by contacting Store Managers to find time to meet with new hires. Corporate Trainers are required to service all Midwest Petroleum locations. Corporate Trainers will help new hires complete any online training, answer any questions/concerns, and conduct end-of-training evaluations. Doing this will help employees complete all job duties to the best of their abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct follow-ups and remedial training with new employees after their first couple weeks of working with Midwest Petroleum
  • Provide hands-on training.
  • Plan out schedules to meet new/struggling employees.
  • Communicate with, train, and assist the In-store trainers to ensure the timely, consistent, and thorough administration of the new hire training program.
  • Assist with the delivery of new In-store training materials.
  • Documents visits to help track how training in the stores is going.
  • Providing in-person training to new managers.
  • Perform spot checks to help find any issues found by other departments.
  • Participate in the Certified Trainer Course to ensure selected employees receive the proper tools to train new employees.
  • Handle any other work that can be assigned at the supervisor's discretion.
Education/Experience Qualifications
Highschool Diploma
2-3 years experience in retail/customer service
Preferred experience at Convenience store

Physical Requirements This position is performed in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to general office equipment, beverage equipment, coolers, and any other site-specific equipment/factors. You could also encounter exposure to hazardous materials and loud noises. This job requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach regularly. Must be able to frequently be required to lift, push, or pull weight of at least 5 to 75 pounds. Ability to work in different Midwest Petroleum Stations.
