The Human Resources Generalist will play a key part in supporting a specialized government contract environment, ensuring smooth HR operations, compliant processes, and an exceptional employee experience. Acting as a trusted point of contact, the role spans recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll coordination, and leave management. It requires strong autonomy, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. You will collaborate closely with HR leadership and cross-functional teams to support both day-to-day operations and strategic HR initiatives. - Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers, providing timely support on HR inquiries and employee relations matters.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing strategies, job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and selection processes.
- Maintain talent pipelines using job boards, social media, and networking to support current and future hiring needs.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate documentation and a seamless employee experience.
- Support payroll activities by validating employee data, time off, and employment changes in partnership with payroll teams.
- Administer and track employee leave programs, including FMLA, parental leave, and short-term disability.
- Manage HR ticketing systems, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and resolution of requests.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records across HR systems.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
- Assist with audits, reporting, HR projects, and benefits-related initiatives.
- Contribute to overall HR team objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in HR Generalist and/or full-cycle recruiting roles.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Experience supporting HR operations in a government contract environment strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Paylocity and Zoho.
- Experience with ATS and ticketing systems such as Jira or JazzHR.
- Understanding of employment law fundamentals and HR best practices.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements, including Service Contract Act (SCA) regulations, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Strong collaboration skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Availability for a 6-month temporary assignment, with potential for conversion based on performance and business needs.
