Medical Receptionist (PRN/as needed) in Dowagiac , Michigan at Beacon Health System

Beacon Health System is seeking a reliable and customer-focused PRN Medical Receptionist to support our Acute Physical Therapy department in Dowagiac, MI.

What is PRN?
PRN (as-needed) means you’ll work a flexible, on-call schedule to help cover staffing needs such as call-offs, vacations, and peak times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greets patients and visitors, checks patients in and out, and obtains necessary documentation. Verifies and enters demographic information.
• Obtains and verifies insurance authorizations/precertification. Completes medical record release requests and schedules/confirms patient appointments.
• Enters, reviews and submits charges for patient procedures and services daily. Collects co-payments and reconciles all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
• Provides general office and clerical support to the assigned area.

Qualifications:

• Previous medical office or customer service experience preferred
• Educational background in lieu of experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with scheduling systems
