Job Description

About the Role:

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Southern Oncology Specialists PLLC, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced oncology environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist healthcare providers in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care throughout their treatment journey. You will be responsible for performing clinical tasks, managing patient records, and facilitating communication between patients and medical staff. This is a float position and will require travel between all office locations as needed to provide coverage.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an oncology or specialty medical practice.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed.
  • Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while updating information in electronic health systems.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care, ensuring a seamless patient experience.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and health maintenance strategies.
