About This Position

Description:

North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families in crisis by addressing basic needs, promoting long-term stability, and supporting our older adult neighbors. We envision Northern Allegheny County as a sharing community where no one needs to be cold, hungry, or alone.

The Millvale Manager is responsible for overseeing NHCO services provided out of the Millvale office and areas served by the Pathways Program. This role ensures consistent service delivery, compliance with contractual obligations, high-quality program outcomes, and smooth day-to-day operations of the Millvale office. The Millvale Manager serves as a member of NHCO’s Leadership Team, supporting strategic planning, cross-department initiatives, and agency-wide goals.

Essential Duties

  • Administer NHCO programs and services provided out of the Millvale office which include emergency food assistance, emergency assistance grants, disaster relief, and family stability programs along with self-sufficiency programs (Pathways and Transportation Financial Assistance).
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and mentor direct reports which include two Millvale Service Coordinators, McKees Rocks Service Coordinator, North Boroughs Service Coordinator along with volunteers and interns.
  • Manage day-to-day Millvale office facilities and operations, escalating out-of-scope issues to the Operations team as needed. Arrange volunteer receptionist coverage for the Millvale office Monday – Friday 9am -4pm.
  • Manage program budgets, including tracking and reconciling expenditures for organizational credit cards and gift card disbursements.
  • Oversee programs operations, drive continuous improvement in service delivery, and ensure compliance with all contract and grant requirements.
  • Monitor program data, analyze trends, and prepare reports to evaluate effectiveness, identify unmet community needs, and inform community assessments.
  • Meet with organizations and key individuals to promote NHCO programs and services and partners to support those we serve.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry, including oversight of data entered by staff and volunteers.
  • Provide support to all volunteers who volunteer time in support of the Millvale office and staff (data entry volunteer, housekeeping, food pantry, etc.)

Secondary Duties

  • Place and coordinate orders for office supplies and manage printer/copier needs.
  • Represent NHCO at community meetings, events, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills to interpret program data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace applications.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff, volunteers, clients, and community partners.

Experience/ Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree in social work and minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite, with strong attention to data accuracy.
  • Required to submit Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background Check, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, and Mandatory Reporter Training.

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

  1. Office environment with frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
  2. Evening and weekend work may be required to meet program and community needs.
  3. Tasks may require kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, crouching, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and other repetitive motions.
  4. Must be able to operate standard office and computer equipment.
  5. Local Travel by and transportation of organization supplies in employees-provided automobile is required, with mileage reimbursed by NHCO reimbursement policy.
