Description

Rochester Electronics, LLC seeks a Senior Equipment Maintenance Engineer to work in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Equipment maintenance supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment, in both component assembly, and test. Provide in depth troubleshooting and solutions for complex equipment problems. Implement new equipment learnings/advancements to subordinates and peers. Create and steer multifunction teams to support production with equipment setups, commissioning’s, buy-offs, enhancements, calibrations, and repairs.

• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of semiconductor component test equipment across multiple equipment types.
• Coordinate all necessary resources to troubleshoot equipment failures to find root cause, define and implement the solution.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize equipment to drive continuous improvement, high uptime and process reliability, efforts.
• Lead communications with other equipment maintenance team members and equipment users.
• Work with outside vendors for specialist advice and arrange for service support where necessary.
• Develop procedures and carry out preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Manage and steer all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.
• Will be responsible as required for routine tasks of automated component handling kit changes, set up of automation equipment to support production requirements.
• Will be responsible for supporting other Equipment Maintenance activities such as parts & chemical inventories, general purchasing needs, etc.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Inspect equipment and conduct routine maintenance.
• Remove old equipment and install new machines.
• Provide technical support and training maintenance technicians on new equipment.
• Create, update, and implement new and existing SOP’s, Specifications for Equipment Operations, PMs and Calibrations.

Job Requirements:
• Associate's degree in engineering with an emphasis in mechanical or electrical principles, or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent foreign degree.
• Four years of engineering maintenance experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience with plastics packaging, automated gold bonding, and inspection systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of wire bond, die attach, and other semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Advanced Knowledge of mechanical and electrical fundamentals.
• Quickly react to change of priorities to support fast changing production priorities.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and training skills.
• Relevant technical experience in semiconductor equipment maintenance with a proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and deliver results.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for process/equipment interactions.
• Practical experience applying structured problem-solving methods.
• Initiative to address and appropriately escalate problems to achieve rapid resolution.
