Personnel Security Analyst at Midnight Sun Technologies, LLC – Rockville, Maryland

Position Summary: The Personnel Security Specialist is responsible for supporting personnel security operations by processing clearance requests, conducting background investigations, maintaining security records, and ensuring compliance with federal security regulations and policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Process and manage clearance and access requests for contractors, licensees, and employees in accordance with established personnel security procedures.
• Review, validate, and pre-screen security documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct background investigations and verification checks using systems such as credit reports, FBI fingerprint checks (FBIF), PIPS/CVS, JPAS, CPCI, and other required databases.
• Maintain and update electronic personnel security records within the Personnel Security Adjudicative Tracking System (PSATS).
• Process and track access requests for Safeguards Information (SGI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) utilizing PSATS and OPM systems.
• Provide customer service support by responding to inbound inquiries and resolving personnel security-related issues via phone and email.
• Administer badge enrollment and identity verification processes using MyID software in compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12).
• Operate Live Scan fingerprinting systems to capture, verify, and process biometric data for employees and contractors.
• Coordinate, process, and monitor visit requests (incoming and outgoing) while ensuring strict adherence to security protocols.
• Escort visitors within controlled or secure areas in accordance with established security guidelines.
• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence to support daily Personnel Security Branch (PSB) operations.
• Demonstrate strong administrative, organization, and communication skills.
• Interact tactfully, maintain confidentiality, and communicate professionally with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Perform additional duties and provide operational support as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality of work.
• Ability to successfully obtain and maintain and NRC "Q" security clearance (equivalent to a Top Secret clearance).
• Active Secret or Top Secret/Q clearance - preferred.
