POSITION SUMMARY
Pero Family Farms is seeking a highly capable Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to serve as the primary accounting and finance business and systems analysis resource responsible for understanding business needs, defining requirements, and ensuring solutions deliver measurable value. This role provides strong analytical leadership while also performing hands-on development activities such as building analytics, reports, queries, and integrations when appropriate. The Business Systems Analyst emphasizes analysis and solution ownership first, using technical skills to accelerate delivery, validate requirements, and close execution gaps across the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
Requirements:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Outcome Ownership, Data Governance & Stakeholder Leadership
- Own solution outcomes by ensuring delivered capabilities achieve measurable business value, including operational efficiency, cost avoidance, risk reduction, and improved decision-making.
- Define success metrics and KPIs in partnership with stakeholders and validate outcomes through post-implementation analysis.
- Ensure systems, data, and analytics solutions align with enterprise data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
- Partner with data owners and technical teams to promote data quality, lineage, and appropriate data usage.
- Lead resolution of competing stakeholder priorities by facilitating tradeoff discussions and recommending balanced, data-driven solutions.
- Manage scope, timeline, and quality conflicts through clear communication, structured analysis, and escalation when required.
Primary Business & Systems Analysis
- Serve as the primary analyst responsible for requirements elicitation, process analysis, and solution definition.
- Analyze current-state processes and data flows and define future-state workflows, business rules, and functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear specifications, acceptance criteria, and implementation guidance for technical delivery.
- Maintain traceability between business objectives, requirements, delivered solutions, and realized outcomes.
Development & Technical Enablement (As Needed)
- Perform hands-on development activities when appropriate, including SQL queries, reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Develop or prototype data integrations and REST API-based data extractions to validate requirements or accelerate delivery.
- Use development skills to investigate issues, validate data, and support troubleshooting and production support.
- Collaborate with dedicated developers or data engineers when solutions exceed individual development scope.
Testing, Implementation & Support
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and data validation scripts to ensure requirements are met.
- Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and coordinate issue resolution.
- Support deployments and provide post-implementation analysis, enhancements, and continuous improvement.
Agile Delivery & Documentation
- Operate within Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Maintain requirements, user stories, and delivery artifacts in tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Create and maintain business, functional, and technical documentation including process flows, data dictionaries, and user guides.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Occasional travel may be required for stakeholder workshops, project implementations, or system rollouts.
- Frequent interaction with internal departments including Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and executive leadership.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment supporting multiple concurrent initiatives and priorities.
- Handling sensitive business, operational, and data information requiring discretion and adherence to company policies.
- Participation in project meetings, system planning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration efforts.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent use of office equipment such as computers, phones, and related technology.
- Ability to maintain focus and attention while analyzing data and systems for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and in written formats.
- Occasional standing, walking, or movement between departments or locations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or Business/Data Analyst.
- Strong analytical and requirements management skills with demonstrated ability to lead solution definition.
- 2–3 years of experience working with or supporting business areas such as Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain.
- Extensive understanding of Supply Chain, ERP, EPM, or BI applications.
- Proficiency in SQL and analytics tools sufficient to support development, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of system integrations, APIs, and data flows.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery practices; experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to independently own analysis while contributing technical development effort when needed.
- Preferred experience with analytics or reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Domo.
- Experience working in data-intensive, regulated, manufacturing, or food production environments preferred.
- PMP certification, Six Sigma, or formal process improvement training preferred.
- Experience working closely with data engineering or application development teams preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive business information.
