About This Position
The Senior Plant Manager is responsible for leading the overall performance, strategy, and operational excellence of multiple salvage yard locations. This role drives consistency, efficiency, and safety across all sites by partnering closely with site leadership and functional teams. With a strong focus on people leadership, process improvement, and financial performance, the Senior Plant Manager ensures operations are aligned with company standards while supporting growth and continuous improvement across the business.
This role supports operations across the Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Wichita locations.
Essential Job Duties
- Review financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
- Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the purchasing, production, pricing, sales, or distribution of commodity products.
- Direct or coordinate financial or budget activities to fund locations, and maximize investments in facilities to increase efficiency.
- Plan or direct activities that require coordination with other departments.
- Establish or implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with organizational directives.
- Monitor suppliers to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed goods or services within budgetary limits.
- Implement or oversee environmental management or sustainability programs addressing issues such as recycling, conservation, or waste management.
- Acts as liaison for locations’ leadership and employees and provides resources as needed for locations to comply with corporate functions.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensuring quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- 6+ years in specialized profession or equivalent including 3 years+ management experience; degree required; advanced degree and professional certification preferred
Preferred Requirements
Some college coursework.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
- Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.
- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents and practices.
- Decisions impact the management and operations within a department or business unit. May contribute to business and operational decisions that affect the department.
- Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional areas. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others.
- Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
