SERVER, BISTRO RESTAURANT in Indio, California at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino

Servers are responsible for delivering exceptional service and creating a warm, friendly atmosphere for all guests. This role requires thorough knowledge of menu items, preparation methods, and ingredients, as well as the ability to make informed recommendations and suggestions to enhance the guest experience and maximize sales through appropriate upselling. Servers must work effectively as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and comply with all company policies and gaming regulations.

• Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive service to guests, fellow team members, and the culinary production team.
• Greet and welcome each guest seated within the assigned station.
• Take initial food and/or beverage orders within five (5) minutes of the guest being seated.
• Maintain accurate and current knowledge of the menu, including pronunciation, preparation techniques, ingredients, seasonings, and presentation.
• Offer menu recommendations based on guest preferences and upsell appetizers, beverages, and desserts in accordance with service standards.
• Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system to ensure correct preparation.
• Deliver prepared food to the appropriate guest within three (3) minutes of order completion.
• Return to the table within three (3) minutes of food delivery to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Address and resolve service issues in accordance with established service standards.
• Itemize, total, and present guest checks accurately and efficiently.
• Assist bus staff, as needed, with clearing, cleaning, and setting tables.
• Clean and sanitize counter areas, sinks, and bus stations to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Perform deep cleaning of restaurant equipment, including tables, chairs, booths, beverage dispensers, and coffee machines, as scheduled or required.
• Operate and maintain restaurant equipment in adherence to established safety procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or comparable experience required.
• Previous food server experience in a high-volume, upscale dining environment preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., glass racks, coffee urns, flatware bins, and restocking supplies).
• Ability to lift and carry food trays weighing up to 30 pounds above shoulder level.
• Ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds (including moving tables and chairs to accommodate guest seating).
• Ability to reach above and below shoulder level; grasp small items such as flatware, plates, cups, and glasses; and perform repetitive motions including bending, stooping, twisting, and cleaning.

Work Environment:

Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights. Able to work at a fast pace in an often crowded/noisy environment. Employees working in the Casino or Bowling Center may be exposed to second-hand smoke and moderate levels of noise.
