Room Service Host at Southeastern Health – Lumberton, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY:
To serve meals to patients in a professional, efficient manner; instructs patients on meal ordering system; assists patients in placing meal orders; assesses the patient’s capabilities to utilize the meal order system and maintains ecord records of patient food intake.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: A high school degree or equivalent . Able to read and write English able to follow oral and written instructions. Absolutely crucial to be able to have positive interaction with different levels of patients, patient’s families, and other staff within the hospital setting. ServSafe certification is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word. Working with Tablets and using cell phones are required. Ability to work with other professions on physician’s orders.

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Incumbent must demonstrate an ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication relevant to patients and family of all age ranges-pediatric to geriatric. Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
