Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and compassionate Pediatric Office Nurse to join our outpatient pediatric practice. This role focuses on providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced, family-centered office environment while supporting providers and ensuring excellent patient experiences.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
  • Demonstrated experience or clinical training in pediatric nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Experience working in pediatric hospital units, clinics, or community health settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.

Responsibilities:

    Assist pediatric providers during office visits and procedures

    Perform patient intake, vital signs, and developmental screenings

    Administer immunizations and medications per protocol

    Provide patient and parent education on treatments, medications, and preventive care

    Manage phone triage, medication refills, and patient follow-ups

    Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)

    Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for patient care

    Follow infection control and safety standards appropriate for an office setting

Skills:

The required skill of Pediatric Nursing is essential for accurately assessing and addressing the unique healthcare needs of children, ensuring safe medication administration, and providing age-appropriate patient education. Strong communication skills enable the nurse to effectively interact with young patients and their families, fostering trust and understanding. Critical thinking and clinical judgment are applied daily to respond to patient needs. Additionally, proficiency with electronic health records supports efficient documentation and coordination of care within multidisciplinary teams.
