Medical Assistant – Women’s Health / Gyn
MFM Health is seeking an enthusiastic, patient-centered Medical Assistant (MA) to support our Women’s Health / Gynecology services. This role is essential in providing compassionate, confidential, and high-quality care to patients across the lifespan. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting women’s health in a respectful and supportive environment.

- Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for women’s health and gynecologic visits.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, chief complaints, menstrual and obstetric histories.
- Prepare patients for pelvic exams, Pap smears, breast exams, and other GYN-related procedures.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including but not limited to:
- Pap smears and HPV testing
- Pelvic exams
- IUD and contraceptive procedures (insertions/removals assistance)
- Endometrial biopsies (as applicable)
- Perform CLIA-waived testing as ordered (e.g., pregnancy tests, urinalysis, STI testing, wet preps, COVID testing).
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and document appropriately.
- Deliver age- and condition-appropriate care, maintaining patient comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
- Provide patient education related to medications, procedures, contraception, preventive screenings, and follow-up care.
- Accurately maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) in a timely and confidential manner.
- Prepare charts and ensure all required documentation, consents, and test results are complete prior to visits.
- Document procedures, specimen collection, medications, and patient education per protocol.
- Collect, label, and process specimens (e.g., Pap specimens, urine, vaginal swabs) according to clinical guidelines.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transport of specimens to laboratories.
- Track results and route them appropriately to providers.
- Provide exceptional customer service and foster a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for patients.
- Answer patient questions within scope, address concerns, and relay messages accurately to providers.
- Support sensitive conversations with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and privacy laws (HIPAA).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms between patients.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of clinical supplies specific to women’s health services.
- Assist with ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

Pay Range : $20-$25 per hour comensurate with experience
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) (Preferred)
- Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience, preferably in women’s health, OB/GYN, or primary care (Preferred)
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems (Preferred)
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
