Safety Coordinator in NEWARK, New Jersey at SALSON LOGISTICS INC

SalSon Logistics is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support our growing transportation and logistics operations. This role is essential in helping maintain compliance, supporting driver safety initiatives, and ensuring accurate documentation across multiple departments.

The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and communication skills, the ability to manage sensitive information, and a proactive approach to problem solving. Experience within the safety department of a transportation or trucking company is a plus but not required. Attention to detail is absolutely essential for success in this role.

• Assist with maintaining driver qualification files and safety records
• Monitor and track compliance documentation including MVRs, medical cards, licensing, and certifications
• Support onboarding and orientation processes for drivers and employees
• Review reports and documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Communicate with drivers, managers, and internal departments regarding safety and compliance matters
• Assist with accident and incident documentation
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, and FMCSA requirements
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and administrative documentation as needed
• Provide general administrative support to the Safety Department

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, or safety/compliance is a plus but not required
