Assistant Manager, Production and Outlet in Traverse City, Michigan at Goodwill Northern Michigan

The Assistant Manager, Production & Outlet partners with store leadership to meet and exceed production goals for both retail and outlet operations. This role focuses on coaching staff, ensuring quality and pricing standards, improving inventory flow, and supporting a safe, efficient production environment.

Pay: $19–$21 per hour

• Train, coach, and develop production and outlet team members
• Monitor daily productivity and quality through observation and camera audits
• Ensure merchandise is graded, priced, rotated, and presented according to guidelines
• Oversee outlet productivity, breaks, and daily scheduling
• Maintain a safe, organized production and outlet environment
• Support inventory flow, turnover, and sales-driving strategies
• Ensure exceptional guest service in the outlet
• Follow all Goodwill policies, safety standards, and procedures
• Collaborate with store leadership to achieve operational goals
• Support the mission and values of Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (retail or customer service preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

• Strong understanding of retail operations and team leadership
• Proven ability to train, motivate, and support a diverse workforce
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and projects effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
• Ability to lift 20–50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
