About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
The Massage Therapist enhances health and well-being through hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. This position requires face-to-face leadership in these programs and may involve early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities based on client needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Gives massages in a variety of modalities: Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Sports, Relaxation, Prenatal, Chair, etc. Operates heat lamps and related equipment
- Keeps linen and towel supplies stocked
- Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion
- Handles member complaints
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association
COMPENSATION
$25.00 - $31.82 ; Part-Time, Non Exempt (up to 25 hrs/week)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current massage therapy certification required.
- High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
- Must have current, recognized Massage Therapy Certification
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (required)
- First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
- AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days
- Blood Borne Pathogen training
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
