Ai Administrative Resident

Position Highlights:

The AI Administrative Resident is an early-career professional with advanced training in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related fields. This one-year structured residency combines organizational exposure, leadership development, and immersive AI/IT project experience designed to cultivate a future technical and organizational leader for Moffitt Cancer Center. This program is tailored for individuals seeking to apply advanced computational methods across clinical, business, and research operations while gaining a broad understanding of cancer center workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Rotational Learning
    • 2 months of broad exposure to clinical, research, and business operations.
    • 1 month dedicated to IT, Machine Learning, and AI immersion.
    • Shadowing, executive interactions, and foundational leadership development.
  • Project Execution
    • Resident works on AI/IT projects focused on real-world institutional needs.
    • Projects are co-designed with technical preceptors and leadership.
    • Deliverables include strategy recommendations, model prototypes, workflow automation, and operational enhancements.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in structured mentoring with both leadership and technical preceptors.
    • Engage with Administrative Residency peers for shared programming.
    • Attend professional development workshops, leadership sessions, and cross-departmental meetings

Credentials and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Applied Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Biomedical Informatics, or related discipline.
  • Degree must be conferred between July 1, 2025, and May 30, 2026.
  • Demonstrated experience with AI/ML model development, data analysis, or computational research.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Interest in applying AI to healthcare operations, clinical workflows, or cancer research.
