Electrical Engineering Design Supervisor

Description

This position works closely with other engineers, project managers, and Client team members in support of both capital and operational improvement projects.
Primary responsibilities
- People Management: lead & inspire, mentor & coach, assist with talent acquisition & retention, manage personnel performance, perform regular performance reviews
- Project Execution: assign and plan resources, monitor project budgets, engage and monitor project stakeholders, and on occasion act as lead engineer on projects
- Technical Expertise: ensure department processes, procedures and instructions are up to date and utilized, provide technical direction and support, resolve technical challenges, ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulations
- Client Satisfaction & Project Sales: Regularly engage Clients to maintain relationships and communicate about systemic issues, solicit feedback from client stakeholders, assist with the development and submittal of proposals, identify and follow up on prospective project opportunities
- Strategic Alignment: Hold department meetings to identify, discuss and solve department issues, convey issues to management, align department initiatives with company annual and/or quarterly goals
Experience
- Minimum of six (6) years or more of experience in electrical engineering design
- Supervisory or team lead experience is preferred
- Industrial electrical design experience in the following industries preferred: manufacturing, consumer goods, renewable energy, gas processing, chemical, and/or life sciences
- Expertise in National electrical Code (NEC), NFPA70E, and other applicable codes and standards
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred
Education
- B.S in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institute. Concentration in power preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

- Excellent communication skills in English, both in words and in writing; ability to generate client communication correspondence and presentations
- Project and/or resource planning
- Project management
- Proposal and manhour estimate development
- Proficiency in SKM PowerTools, ETAP, PowerWorld or similar power system modeling software
- Proficiency with Schweitzer Electrical Laboratories, Basler and GE protection products and software
- Strong knowledge of MS Office
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
