Team Leader at Bluegrass Supply Chain – Moody, Alabama

Role Overview

We are looking for a Team Lead – Forklift Operations to join our team in Moody, Alabama. In this role, you will learn all aspects of the operation and be a subject material expert for all processes. The Team Lead will act as the primary trainer for all new hires, as well as a trainer for established team members when processes are updated. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to mentor team members. The warehouse environment may or may not be climate-controlled.

Key Responsibilities:

· Train established standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to forklift operators and warehouse techs to meet efficiency standards that support the operation’s daily goals.

· Participate in the evaluation of established SOP’s and work with leadership to improve and revise as needed.

· Safely operate a forklift to move and stack containers and materials as needed.

· Perform continuous forklift training (CFT’s) to audit and improve forklift operators’ safe behaviors.

· Perform process audits within the operation to ensure compliance with SOP’s.

· Conduct daily inspections of equipment.

· Assist with general warehouse tasks.

· Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to forklift operators.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

· Perform daily cycle counts to ensure accurate reporting and tracking of inventory and task completion.

· Ensure trailers and equipment are safe to enter before loading.

· Complete correct shipping documentation and system transitions to ensure proper shipment and inventory accuracy.

· Ensure prompt communication with clients, drivers, and guests.

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years of forklift operation experience, with at least 1 year in hands-on warehouse training experience.

· Valid driver’s license and forklift certification required.

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

· Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.

· Physical ability to lift 50-75 pounds regularly and work in varying temperature conditions.

· Effective communication skills to interact with team members and management.

· Proficiency in inventory management systems or willingness to learn
