Surgery Coordinator - Orthopedics at Collier Sports Medicine and OR – Naples, Florida

Join our team! We are seeking an experienced, skilled Surgery Coordinator to handle surgery scheduling for one orthopedic surgeon. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment. This position does not require getting insurance authorizations since we have a full time precertification coordinator.

Duties: Schedule surgical procedures ensuring efficient use of operating room time
- Coordinate necessary pre-operative appointments to obtain medical clearances in a timely manner and follow up to make sure they are cleared for surgery
- Communicate with patients regarding their surgery dates, pre-operative instructions, and any necessary paperwork
- Collaborate with the physician to ensure accurate coding for surgical procedures to give to the authorization coordinator and surgical biller
- Prioritizes filling cancelled spots to be filled with short notice

Salary is based on experience. Starting salary: $27 per hour with experience

- Minimum 1 year of experience in surgery scheduling, preferably in orthopedics - Knowledge of medical terminology related to surgical procedures - Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records
