Security Guard - PT in Perth Amboy, New Jersey at RARITAN BAY AREA YMCA

The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently seeking a reliable and professional part-time Security Guard to help maintain a safe and secure environment for members, visitors, and staff throughout the facility.

Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the Security Guard will demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to identify potential security concerns and address them in an efficient and timely manner. This position requires maintaining constant alertness and ensuring that all individuals entering the building are authorized to do so. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Greet and monitor individuals entering the facility.
• Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and restricted areas.
• Observe security cameras and alarm systems.
• Conduct routine walkthroughs of building, locker rooms, saunas, and grounds.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances.
• Complete incident reports and maintain documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service to members and guests.
• Support front desk and custodial staff as needed.
• Enforce the YMCA Code of Conduct and facility policies.

Hours:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior security, safety, law enforcement, or customer service experience preferred.
• Alert, observant, and able to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle emergency or difficult situations calmly.
• Basic computer skills for incident reporting.
• Must pass background checks in accordance with YMCA policies
