| Position Description | The Division of Endodontics in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterial Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position as Clinical Director of Endodontics. This faculty position has an academic appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. The Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterial Sciences encompasses the clinical specialties of Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Implant Dentistry, and Operative Dentistry. Members of the Endodontic Division teach and mentor predoctoral fellows, endodontic residents, and DMD students. Successful candidates should have a strong record and future promise in teaching and scholarship in endodontics. They would join a vibrant program recognized nationally and internationally for educating leaders in patient care, research, and service. Activities will include clinical and didactic instruction in predoctoral and/or postdoctoral endodontic education programs, scholarly/research activities, participation in ongoing continuing education programs, and service to the university and community. This position is responsible for the academic advancement of DMD and/or AGE students in endodontics regarding clinical requirements and maintaining compliance with CODA accreditation standards for endodontic education. The position also includes research and clinical practice based on interest and expertise. Depending on qualifications and interests, applicants may be considered for additional leadership responsibilities including Program Director for the Advanced Graduate Program in Endodontics. |
| Basic Qualifications | The successful candidate must hold a dental degree (DMD or DDS) from a CODA-accredited dental school or international equivalent and have completed Advanced Graduate Training in Endodontics. Eligibility for full or limited faculty licensure in Massachusetts is also required. |
| Additional Qualifications | Board Certification, or Board Eligible Status by the American Board of Endodontics, is strongly preferred. Prior academic experience and a record of innovation and/or scholarly research relevant to endodontics are valued. Further qualifications include clinical skills necessary to successfully to teach and practice in the Harvard Dental Center. |

| Salary Range | The salary range for an Assistant Professor is $125,000 to $180,000. The salary range for an Associate Professor is $165,000 to $250,000. Posted salary ranges are based on a full time equivalent. HSDM is dedicated to offering competitive and equitable compensation that accurately reflects each candidate’s experience, expertise, responsibilities, and performance. The salary within the advertised range will be determined by several factors, including the individual’s education, experience, discipline, rank, internal equity, and available budget. |
