As a Medical Technologist, you’ll be at the heart of our diagnostic team, helping to provide the critical lab results that support our patients’ treatment and care. Your expertise will directly impact the quality of care and outcomes for our patients, and we’re looking for someone who’s dedicated, compassionate, and ready to grow with us.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform Diagnostic Tests: Conduct a variety of clinical laboratory tests on patient samples, including blood, urine, and other specimens, to assist in diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions.
  • Analyze Results: Accurately interpret test results and prepare detailed reports, ensuring they are promptly available to physicians for treatment decisions.
  • Maintain Lab Equipment: Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, ensuring they are functioning properly and providing accurate results.
  • Collaborate with the Healthcare Team: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure timely and precise diagnostic information is available for patient care.
  • Ensure Patient Safety: Follow all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Provide Exceptional Care: While lab work is your expertise, your ability to show care and attention to detail in every task you perform makes you an essential part of the patient experience at Shannon.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biological Science or relevant field

At Shannon Medical Center, we recognize that professionals come with different credentials and experiences. That's why we offer several qualification pathways to accommodate a range of certifications and licenses.

Flexible Additional Qualification Options:

Pathway 1:

  • U.S Military Medical Laboratory Training
  • ASCP Certification (or eligible to obtain)
  • AMT Certification is preferred

Pathway 2:

  • NAACLS Accredited Program
  • ASCP Certification (or eligible to obtain)
  • AMT Certification is preferred

Pathway 3:

  • ASCP Certification (or eligible to obtain)
  • AMT Certification is preferred
