General Description:
Under direction, provides case management and coordination to high school students and their families to assist them with the college application process and prepare them for college and or careers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides individual guidance, assistance, and information to youth applying to either 2 or 4-year colleges, including completing college applications, FASFA/TAP and other financial aid applications in a complete and timely manner.
- Assists students in research of colleges and scholarship opportunities.
- Provides individual guidance, assistance, and information to program participants registering for the SAT/ACT, including making them aware of free waivers for the tests when applicable.
- Collaborates with High School Guidance Counselors and office staff to identify students for the program and to schedule bi-weekly meetings for the students.
- Organizes and participate in college visits, college fair visits, and various field trips with participants, including scheduling transportation for large group trips and providing individual transportation to College Bound activities when necessary, including preparing and obtaining parent permission slips for all activities.
- Conducts monthly group activities, including FASFA and budgeting workshops, as needed.
- Conducts program surveys and data related to program needs.
- Establishes and maintain a working relationship with the College Bound program funders.
- Seeks out donations for program activities.
- Actively participates in staff meetings.
- Prepares and maintains written reports and pertinent data related to the College Bound program.
- Participates in agency requirements/events including but not limited to: fundraising; community events; evening and weekend requirements; affiliated school open houses as directed by supervisor from time to time.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree in human resources, Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling or field. Bachelor's degree in similar fields of study is preferred.
Experience: One year of prior work experience with teenagers preferred.

- Ability to prioritize assignments, plan, and complete work projects with minimal direction
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to effectively and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal/written skills
- Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and partner organizations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support organizational mission, philosophy, and policies
- Ability to work in a cooperative and helpful manner with all individuals
- Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques
