Job Summary
The North American Inventory Manager is the Process Owner for the enterprise Inventory Planning and Control Process. In close coordination with the Global Supply Chain Director, Facility Managers, and Purchasing team, the Manager is responsible for ensuring TGC utilizes its ERP system and other tools and human processes to serve our customers in the most cash flow effective means possible.
The Manager will have deep discipline-specific knowledge and experience with the ability to coordinate supply chain and inventory control activities across multiple locations.
Work activities will involve strategic communication with functional and facility leaders. The North American Inventory Manager will serve as an enterprise-level resource in facilitating process improvement activities using continuous improvement tools, concepts and techniques.
Requirements:Essential Job Functions
- Serve as the enterprise Inventory Planning and Control Process owner
- Manage our key raw material ERP data management processes (Raw Material Part and Vendor Maintenance) to ensure timely updates and data integrity
- Oversee and audit our reorder point (ROP) management process to ensure ROP’s are updated in the necessary timeframes, ensuring a balance of inventory and customer service levels
- Cross-functionally lead the enterprise inventory level corrective action process minimizing excess inventory
- Actively keep up to date with the latest business operation optimization tools to ensure TGC is leading our industry in customer service and cash management processes
- Maintain and assist in development of key metrics surrounding inventory control and planning
- Perform as an enterprise-level resource for strategic process improvement event facilitation.
- Maintain process documentation and provide training materials that allow others to administer process with limited direction
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies, the Code of Conduct, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Superior analytical skills including high proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
- Extensive experience utilizing ERP software
- Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise-level solutions within the supply chain function
- Excellent communication skills working with supervisors, peers, and internal stakeholders
Education and Experience
- Technical or business/supply chain Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of ten years of progressive business experience is preferred
- One or more purchasing-related certifications (e.g. APICS) preferred
Travel
Employee must be able to travel 10-15% of the time.
