About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will build and assemble high-performance environmental control and refrigeration systems used in specialized laboratory environments. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands-on work, precision assembly, and working from technical drawings. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship will directly impact the quality and performance of our systems.
What You'll Do
• Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies, including pumps, blowers, heaters, and refrigeration-related systems
• Cut, bend, and fit copper and stainless-steel tubing to precise specifications
• Perform drilling, tapping, threading, and general metal fabrication tasks
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate builds
• Install gaskets, seals, and caulking to maintain system integrity and performance
• Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers) to verify tolerances and quality standards
• Inspect completed assemblies and identify any issues prior to final integration
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What We're Looking For
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and assembly work
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or willingness to learn
• Experience with metal fabrication, tubing, or refrigeration systems is a plus
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools and basic math skills
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a team environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently (up to 70 lbs with assistance)
• High school diploma or GED required
• Forklift experience or willingness to become certified
