About This Position
We are looking for a Platform Engineer (Senior) to join our visible technical program driving the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) cloud platform that supports collection, management and analysis of digital engineering information in an architecture that provides seamless digital thread and enables tool interoperability, including data structures suitable for AI applications. This program delivers engineering services for Linux and Windows cloud-based infrastructure as well as sophisticated enterprise computing infrastructure including end-point devices, Cloud services, virtualized applications, and storage systems. Enterprise Computing Engineering services include modern application technology including containerized solutions with orchestrated workflows. Our platform uses a mix of Open Source, Government-off-the-Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial off-the-Shelf (COTS) software and targets cloud-native constructs. The environment offers a secure-by-default configuration, implementing an Infrastructure-as-Code approach, and governance policies. We follow a mostly Agile workflow and adhere to DevSecOps principles. We value fast iteration and a customer-oriented approach while being mindful about security. Responsibilities:
• Provide IT technical services and technical expertise in systems, technical infrastructure, tools, modeling, external interfaces, and other technical areas
• Complete complex development, design, implementation, architecture design specification, and maintenance activities
• Deploy and maintain infrastructure in a cloud-based environment
• Manage networking, including ingress/egress for service routing and zero-trust access
• Work with internal engineering resources as well as customer end-users to design and enhance the user interfaces for supported applications, maintaining responsive designs that accommodate challenging technical and functional requirements
• Create and maintain automated unit test cases meeting the required code coverage thresholds
• Support operations functions, including root cause identification, remediation and documentation (e.g., user guides, ‘how to’ guides, infrastructure diagrams)
• Work closely with clients and cross-functional departments on technical issues including software system troubleshooting and maintenance and to communicate project statuses
• Integrate platform components and operators; implement the deployment and monitoring for these following IaC, CaC and DevSecOps principles
• Monitor system performance
• Test new features and services and fix bugs
• Develop mature solutions for monitoring and reporting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana and Splunk
• Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for DBs, Servers, and applications using DevSecOps tools to include Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Foreman, GitLab, Selenium
• Configure IdAM, Active Directory, LDAP resources
• Prepare technical presentations for government and senior leadership
• Work effectively in a group environment
• Work across infrastructure that contains both Linux and Windows
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical, management and customer both written and verbally
• Utilize robust troubleshooting skills
• Instill and apply solid engineering rigor, to include configuration management, testing
• Develop/engineer as part of an Agile scrum team
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
We are actively seeking candidates with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM field is required. Specific skills include the following:
• Possess a minimum of Active TS/SCI w/ CI Poly
• At a minimum, meet DoDD 8570 requirements (Security+ CE Certification)
• Expertise working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), test automation, automated deployments, and / or DevSecOps on iterative development projects
• Solid ability to demonstrate solid engineering rigor
• Experience architecting and developing software/infrastructure for scalable, secure, and distributed systems on Single- or Multi-cloud environments (prefer AWS, but will consider Azure)
• Strong background in Kubernetes and cloud-native security
• Experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch etc.
• Experience architecting or integrating with workflow, case or ticketing, or automation platforms such as ServiceNow or custom-built systems
• Experience designing APIs such as REST or GraphQL and event-driven systems
• Experience integrating complex systems using APIs, message queues, streaming platforms, and ETL pipelines
• Demonstrated experience with system testing and validation
• Expert troubleshooting and solutioning skills
• Experience with Elasticsearch for search and analytics
• Experience developing environment monitoring capabilities
• Experience with Cloud architecture and system design
• Experience developing cross domain capabilities
• Strong documentation skills
• Familiar with Agile Methodologies
• Ability to accurately decompose tasks for Jira stories
• Developing integration interfaces using Python, PowerShell, and Groovy
• Experience and comfort with basic DevOps Tooling (Foreman, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab)
• Familiarity with Containerized Development environments (Rancher, Kubernetes)
• Expertise with automated testing tools (Selenium) and experience developing automated test plans for both security and functional requirements
• Knowledge of IDAM requirements and technologies including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, OAuth 2.0, and/or OIDC
• Familiarity with customer system security requirements and processes
• Preparation and maintenance of system components
• Experience with API Gateways, catalogs
• Experience with DevOps testing
• Understanding of Active Directory
• Written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly and succinctly describe complex issues

For this role, our typical salary range starts at $180,000 and stretches up to $220,000. But here's the deal – we're not about capping your potential.
